Our mission

The world's most common genetic disease, and the least funded.

10 million people affected, 80 % of them in Africa. A child dies of it every five minutes. A treatment costing 40 € a year cuts crises by two-thirds and raises life expectancy from 5 to 50 years.

In Ouagadougou, a celebration for the children

For World Sickle Cell Day, generic treatment finally reached Burkina Faso.

On 25 June, we held the first Friends of Hugues Charnallet day in Ouagadougou: a celebration for children with sickle cell disease, with a snack, balloons and therapeutic-education workshops. We wanted the handover of treatment to also be a moment of sharing and joy: the families and caregivers did not want to leave.

Thanks to you, 50 children are now treated in Burkina Faso. Behind every box of medicine is a child who smiles again.

100% of donations go directly to treating the children. The entire team (doctors, pharmacists, volunteers) is unpaid.
